Crowley Data Poland Has Completed the Restructuring Process
After three months of 2011, Crowley Data Poland revenues amounted to PLN 25,4m versus 25,7m for the respective period of the past year. If we disregard the one-time events, the revenues in the 1st quarter of this year were about 3 per cent higher that the ones reported in the previous year. The operating profit has significantly improved – EBIDTA reached the level of PLN 4,6m in the first quarter of 2011 and was by over 13 per cent higher in comparison to the past years’ results when it amounted to PLN 4,1m.
Good quarterly results are a consequence of a successful completion of the company’s restructuring process and strengthening the Company’s position on the growing market of data transmission.
– The financial results are better than expected. Our revenues remain in line with the budgetary figures while the costs have dropped by about 4 per cent. As a result, after three months, the value of EBITDA, the key financial parameter, stays about PLN 1m above the budget. Maintaining a stable level of costs will be of key importance for continuing such positive trends and achieving good financial results for the year 2011. Also, the company’s net profit has reached the value of PLN 0,5m; whereas, the first three months of the past year ended up with a net loss of PLN 0,8m – said Marcin Oblicki, Member of the Management Board and the CFO of Crowley Data Poland.
According to Crowley Data Poland, within the coming years, the data transmission market will continue developing faster than the other sectors of the telecommunications market. The company intends to take the best advantage of the market situation investing in the optical fiber technology.
– Due to an increased profitability rate, we are in a position to launch new projects which will bring positive results in the second half of the year. In our opinion, high capacity data transmission services will remain a key element of growth on the overall telecommunication market. We estimate this particular market segment may experience an eleven to nineteen per cent increase in the years 2010 – 2014. As we intend to make the best use of our know-how and experience in this area, we are in process of developing investment projects involving optical fiber technology – said Rafał Pietrzak, the Member of the Board of Management, COO of Crowley Data Poland.
